The Museum is Open!

The museum is committed to doing our part to protect the community. In compliance with the State of Minnesota’s COVID-19 restrictions and the CDC’s guidance, the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery has implemented COVID-19 procedures including requiring masks inside the museum and limiting the number of visitors inside the museum to 10 people at a time to allow for social distancing. Admission is still free, but we ask that you reserve a free ticket by clicking the link on this page. Thanks and see you at the museum!

Admission is free, but we ask that you reserve a free ticket online at Eventbrite.

MAAHMG is located at 1256 Penn Avenue North, Fourth Floor, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55411, at the Regional Acceleration Center. Free visitor parking is located in the ramp in the rear of the building. Free admission.

By Public Transportation

The museum can be reached by bus on the C Line and 19B, exit the bus at the Penn & Plymouth Station. See Metro Transit to plan your trip. www.metrotransit.org.

Accessibility

Group Tours

Guided group tours are available. If you are interested in a group tour, please send an email to Coventry Cowens, Operations Manager at info@maahmg.org. There is a $10 per person fee for tours. Groups are limited to 25 individuals.

Tours for public elementary, middle and high schools are free, but must still be scheduled.

There are currently no tours during COVID-19 restrictions. Please check our website and Facebook page for information on when tours will resume.
