Lessa Kelly, Operations Specialist
Leesa Kelly is the Founder of Memorialize the Movement, a grassroots initiative dedicated to the preservation and accessibility of the plywood protest murals that went up after the murder of George Floyd. When she is not preserving boards she is working on her blog, Leesa Lives, and facilitating self-care workshops tailored for women of color. She is also a social justice activist who believes in uplifting and supporting other Black and Indigenous women of color though coalition building and collaborations.
Alexis Camille, Community Engagement/Programs Coordinator
Alexis Camille is an improv artist and facilitator with several theater companies in the Twin Cities including Blackout Improv, HUGE Theater and The Theater of Public Policy. She has experience in recruitment, community outreach, and organizing. She has produced, created and hosted workshops and special events. As a literacy educator with Americorps Reading Corps she conducted daily group/one-on-one tutoring, and implemented family engagement interventions. Alexis is passionate about empowering and highlighting voices of underrepresented communities of color.
Michaela Spielberger, Communications Specialist
Michaela Spielberger is a Drake University 2020 graduate with a duo degree in Digital Media Production and Anthropology/Sociology. Driven by social injustice, she works to amplify voices, while acknowledging and challenging her white privilege, to learn about and honor personal-lived-experiences other than her own. Michaela is also a part-time barista.
Kayla Pollard, Youth Programs Coordinator
Kayla Pollard is a senior graduating in May 2021 from Hamline University with a major in Anthropology and minor in Theatre. At Hamline University she served in a leadership role in the Peer Wellness program educating students about healthy behaviors. She led workshops, tabled at events and created marketing and social media content for the program. Kayla enjoys going to concerts and watching musicals in her free time. “I’m excited to be joining MAAHMG as their Youth Programs Coordinator.”
