Mica L. Anders will present an introductory genealogy workshop on February 22, from 6 – 8 pm at the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery (MAAHMG). Dive into the exciting world of genealogy with Anders, who is a professional genealogist, and unlock the stories of your African American ancestors. In this workshop, Anders will introduce the tools you need to begin your family history journey, highlight uniquely African American sources, and help you uncover your family’s stories to honor their legacy.

About Mica L. Anders:
Anders is a former History Fellow at the museum. Anders is the founder of Anders Genealogical Services, and she is a professional genealogist, lecturer, and oral historian with over 15 years of experience. Her special interests include African American genealogy, anti-racist genealogy, and families from the Midwest. She holds an MFA in art and enjoys combining her two passions, genealogy and art, to research, design, and curate community history exhibits. Anders is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
